again we celebrate our lucky day!

when i posted last may 5th, i told the story of finding a little black puppy, waiting in a thunderstorm…my perfect sister gayle.  i wasn’t sure then that we’d get another ‘lucky day’ celebration – there are no guarantees in this life…but, i am blessed.

today, we celebrate eleven years of sharing adventures with this beautiful, brave and giving girl.  every moment of every day is a gift.  although we’ve had challenges and changes, gayle continues to be my teacher, to show me the joy in each day.

she is my hero.

gayle developed a small lump in her right front wrist. biopsy determined it was a soft tissue sarcoma, with amputation feb 17, 2010. she's recovering nicely, taking naps when needed, and enjoying every moment of every wonderful day. in december 2010 we discovered oral melanoma cancer. gayle had two surgeries to remove tumors, but the ugly disease took her from us december 12, 2011. love never ends.

Please know that your strength and dignity has given your Tripawd friends faith that we can beat this stupid disease to live a long, full life. Extra treats and longer naps all around!!

  4. Gayle – Thank you so much for giving us another reason to celebrate. You are truly beautiful, both inside and out. And isn’t it a miracle that you and your perfect sister found each other.

Cherish every moment. We’re so happy for you.

  5. I too, celebrate with you! But not just because it’s been 11 years but because I, too am blessed to have Sister Charon and you, Gayle in our lives.

And since I don’t have a sister, I especially treasure my new sisters more than you’ll ever know.

(furry brothers, now that’s another subject!!!)
