Today is my Two Month Ampuversary!

wow, it sure doesn’t seem like it’s been two months since that fateful day, but here i am, april 17th, enjoying a beautiful day with my family!!  slept a little late (but who wouldn’t want to celebrate with a nap), and had a little nosh for breakfast so far.  i’m pretty proud of how my hair is growing back over that ginormous scar, and i must say i’m even more beautiful than before (if that’s possible!).  i wish my charon would let me use the stairs more, but she insists on me wearing my vest and her holding on…she’s pretty brave, but not with stairs i guess.

i raced down the back yard yesterday when i saw a strange dog in the woods, but he scooted away before i could get to him to find out his story.  our yard backs up to a park, so i’m hoping he was looking for his human and wasn’t lost!!

glad to be doing so well today, and everyday…life’s a gift fur sure!!!!!

gayle developed a small lump in her right front wrist. biopsy determined it was a soft tissue sarcoma, with amputation feb 17, 2010. she's recovering nicely, taking naps when needed, and enjoying every moment of every wonderful day. in december 2010 we discovered oral melanoma cancer. gayle had two surgeries to remove tumors, but the ugly disease took her from us december 12, 2011. love never ends.

  1. Happy 2 Month Ampuversary Gayle!! That’s pawesome that you’re feeling so good these days!! Life sure is a gift and I’m sure your family looks at you everyday as their gift. I bet you are more beautiful than ever….that’s what happens when you become one of the tripawd heroes. Wishing you many, many more ampuversaries!

  2. Yeay Gayle! You sound so spunky, we’re glad to hear it! And while I’ not sure it’s pawsible to be even more beautiful, I know that you sound pawsitively radiant these days. Keep it up!

My Mom used to help me every single time I went downstairs, she hated seeing me try to do it myself. So I humored her a few times, until the day I showed her I could do it by leaning against the wall and kinda sliding down as I hopped down each step. It still made her nervous but sometimes she let me go all by myself. Imagine that!

Hang in there, your silly human will relax soon, I think!

  6. You said it, Gayle, and I can only echo it: Life is a gift. Thrilled that you’re feeling so good. We celebrate with naps too in our house whenever we can.

    Congratulations! Two months. Yay!!

  7. Happy Belated Ampuversary, Gayle!

You’ll get those stairs on your own soon enough! Don’t rush it.

Stairs are like driving a car…when you are young you can’t wait to get in it and just go somewhere! But when you get older, you wish someone else would drive!

Trust me, I’m old and I like to be carried up the stairs now even though I can still do it.

    Hang in there!
